2.5       Why not leave it to the United Nations and the world's governments?

A good question -- why indeed not leave the problem to the United Nations (UN) and the world's governments? Surely these governments (including Canada's), the UN, and other global institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF are in a much better position to help developing countries.

The answer to this question is that if we leave it to organizations like the UN and national governments, very little will get done.
